Blog Post 1

Hi my name is Darcee Chris, so you may remember me, I am the one who got in the head on collision and broke quite a few bones.  It was pretty intense and I am glad there are only pieces that I remember.  So a little insight to me and my life, I am a wife and mother of three.  I truly love being a wife and adore my kids.  They are the reason I do the things I do.  I work in sales at a company called allconnect and have truly found a good place to be.  It is not where I want to stay forever but it works for now and I do a very good job and I am treated well.  My life in the past three years has taken a complete 180.  My husband is a recovering addict and through all that I have made huge improvements on my life and the life of my family.  I enjoy boating, relaxing, cooking and sometimes cleaning.  I do hate laundry and doing dishes though.
As I sit here contemplating how Edmundson thought that college students are passionless I have to disagree.  Are they overly passionate, probably not however, I believe there is a passion, or why would they be here?  We live in a world today where many people can get a good paying job without a college degree and more times than not when they do have a degree they cannot find a job in their field of studies.  Take for example the place that I work you simple have to have a high school diploma and that is it.  My place of employment is one of the highest paying places of employment here in southern Utah.  Why would you not want to work there?  Why would you want to go to school on hopes of finding a career that will work for you?
For those who do attend college I believe there is that passion for something better to achieve, something that you know that you worked hard for and you take full responsibility for what you do or do not accomplish.  Once you reach the stage of college you are basically on your own.  No more mom or dad you push your way through high school to do whatever they can to make sure you graduate.  At least that is how it was for me.  My diploma should have been given to my mother.  She worked much harder than me to get it.
As I am little older now I and I am having to pay for things and go into some major debt I really take my schooling seriously and have passion in doing so.  Not that I get the highest grade in the class, just that I do the best that I can because in the end it will all pay off.  I will reach my goal and get to walk the stage as a college graduate.  i do not think that college students go to college with the intent to fail or the attitude of who cares.  It is more than that.  A sense of major accomplishment; a milestone being reached.  A passion within to reach to higher heights and to become a better individual on many different levels.
